Mojo Launcher "Iris" Release Notes: Everything New

The Iris release is the biggest update to Mojo Launcher so far. It changes how graphics, input and mods work, and it renames the app. These notes go through every item in the official release, explain what each means in practice and tell you who should upgrade. The 2026 build is the current stable one, so if you are searching for the Mojo Launcher APK 2026, this is the version you will get.

Highlights: support for Minecraft 26.2+, Mesa 26.2 with real EGL, new Freedreno renderer, Turnip support for newer Adreno GPUs, a legacy Zink plugin for Mali, modpack import, keyboard panning, and one shared package name for GitHub and Google Play.

Graphics: the biggest change

Mesa 26.2 and real EGL

Mesa is the open-source graphics library that several of the launcher's renderers rely on. Iris updates it to version 26.2 and replaces OSMesa-based context management with a real EGL implementation, with Kopper support. In everyday terms, it is a more modern and conventional graphics foundation, and it should help with compatibility.

Freedreno renderer

A new renderer called Freedreno brings desktop OpenGL to Adreno 5xx and newer GPUs. It is aimed at people with Snapdragon phones.

Turnip driver

The built-in Turnip driver adds support for Adreno 710, 720, 722, 810, 825, 829, 830 and 840 GPUs, covering many recent flagship and upper-midrange phones.

Legacy Zink for Mali

Mali GPU owners can use legacy Zink (version 23.0.4) through an optional plugin published by the project.

GL4ES with ANGLE

Holy GL4ES can now run on top of ANGLE, which gives another way to run the default renderer if your device has problems.

LTW fixes

LTW now works with Angelica and Create: Aeronautics. GregTech: New Horizons runs on Zink and Freedreno without changes, and on LTW once Angelica, UniMixins and GTNHLib are updated manually. Which renderer to use is covered in how to fix lag.

Game support

  • Support for Minecraft 26.2 and newer.
  • LWJGL overhaul: the old Pojav GLFW layer is replaced by a real GLFW backend, lwjglx is replaced by lwjgl2-glfw and the modified LWJGL is replaced by minimally patched upstream LWJGL. New LWJGL versions install automatically and each game version gets an appropriate one.
  • Improved support for 16K-page devices, which matters for newer Android hardware.

Mods and modpacks

You can now import local Modrinth .mrpack and CurseForge .zip modpacks. That removes one of the main chores of modded play. See how to install mods for a walkthrough.

Controls and input

  • Keyboard panning: the game window follows the cursor while the on-screen keyboard is open so you can see what you type.
  • New key code SPECIAL_KeyboardPan automatically pans to the bottom of the window, handy for chat.
  • Microphone permission button for voice chat mods.

More about input in Mojo Launcher controls.

A new name, icon and package

The app is now called MJLauncher on your device, and it has a new icon. Importantly, GitHub and Google Play releases share the package name git.artdeell.mjlaunch, so you can update from one to the other. The details are in GitHub vs Play Store.
